Conch White — 38 museum-grade prints in this palette. Pattachitra is the cloth-scroll painting tradition of Odisha, tied to the Jagannath temple at Puri and the chitrakar families of Raghurajpur. Painters work on patta — cotton stiffened with tamarind-seed paste and chalk — using five mineral colours: conch-white (sankha), lamp-black (kalia), haritala yellow, hingula red and geru brick-orange, with indigo (nila) for water and sky. Pattachitra is the cloth-painting tradition of Odisha, centred on the chitrakar families of Raghurajpur near Puri and the Jagannath temple, worked in five mineral colours on patta with crisp lamp-black contour and profile figures. Chhau is a masked martial dance-form of eastern India — its three styles (Mayurbhanj, Seraikella and Purulia) are inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2010), with Mayurbhanj Chhau danced without masks and Seraikella using painted crested masks.
