The brief was to render Kali with her full iconographic charge but a clear, legible read, not a tangle of limbs. So we stood the four-armed black goddess upright at the centre against a hingula-red ground, her sword and severed head in the upper hands, blessing and bowl in the lower, the garland of heads and the loose black hair unmistakable. Beneath her we laid the prone white Shiva — the moment she steps on him and her rage stills, the heart of the Dakshina-Kali image — with jackals and skulls along the base to mark the cremation ground. We kept the surround spare and the red ground bold so the goddess reads as power held in balance. It is the central Shakta subject, drawn for force and clarity in the Odisha line.
