The brief was the Mahashivratri diagram as a clear vertical yantra rather than a crowded shrine: a Shiva-linga in a lotus medallion at the heart, the trident and damaru rising above on a dotted cross-grid, footprints below, and lotuses at the corners. We held the fill near half so the geru ground reads inside the temple-arch and along the grid, the way a vigil diagram looks drawn fresh on a clean floor. In Kumaon, Mahashivratri is the night-long worship of Shiva — the linga is bathed and dressed in bel leaves, and the trident and the damaru are his constant signs — so those are the whole iconography here, set under a stepped shikhara outline. The footprints lead the worshipper inward. White biswar on geru, no third colour.
