The brief was a Navratri yantra that keeps the goddess legible inside the geometry: Durga's face at the centre of interlocking triangles, not lost in a thicket of lines. We set her calm face inside a six-pointed star, edged the triangles with fine dots, and wrapped the whole in a single petalled lotus ring rather than nesting yantras — the discipline of the rite is the triangle, not the clutter. Conch shells mark the upper corners, paired footprints the lower, and a swastika seats the base, the auspicious vocabulary a Kumaoni woman lays for the goddess on Ashtami, the eighth day of Navratri.
