You hear it before you see it — the nagada thunder and the long trumpets, and behind them the Goddess rides out on her own street.

The brief was sound made visible: build the lower half as a procession band marching left to right — nagada kettle-drummers, long-trumpet blowers and flag-bearers leading a small canopied palanquin that carries the Goddess's image through the streets. Above the band the Mother sits enthroned on her cockerel so the procession reads as hers, the deity overhead and her image borne below. Carrying the Mother out in palanquin procession, with drums and trumpets clearing the way, is how her festivals move through a Gujarati neighbourhood, and the Vaghri (Devipujak) shrine cloth has always held room for this public, noisy devotion alongside the still enthroned icon. Framing panels of trumpeters, pot-bearers and dancers keep the energy ringed and legible, and a floral-vine border closes it. Madder red, iron-black, cream — the natural-dye triad carries even the loudest scene calmly.

  • Natural-oak frame on cream or warm-white walls keeps the madder red true and the procession band reading clearly
  • Hang in a hallway where the left-to-right march carries the eye toward an open doorway
  • Pairs with dhol-drummer-panel and street-band-baraat for a music-and-procession grouping
  • Suits a lively dining or entryway wall; keep adjacent decor low-chroma so the band stays the focus
  • Black frame echoes the iron-rust outline and floral-vine border in dark-wood rooms
