The brief was the Ramayana's resolving chord, the Pattabhishekam, and the challenge was to give a full court the calm of an icon. So the composition is built around the central enthroned pair: green-bodied Rama crowned and at ease, golden Sita beside him, both under a single large royal parasol and a fanned prabhavali arch that reads as the still centre of the panel. The two brothers stand in mirrored attendance, but the emotional weight sits low and left, where a white Hanuman kneels in anjali at the foot of the throne — the devotee who, given any boon, asked only to remain near Rama. Painting Rama green follows the murals' guna code, in which green marks the serene, sattvic divine, exactly the register of a just king restored. The medium-light density keeps the ochre ground open above the court so the throne reads cleanly rather than as a crowd.

  • Natural-oak frame on a warm-white wall keeps the ochre ground and red throne warm
  • Hang in a puja room or hallway at eye level so the enthroned pair reads first
  • Pairs with hanuman-bhakta or krishna-venugopala from the same collection
  • Sits well beside vishnu-anantashayana or narasimha-fierce for a Vishnu-and-avatars wall
  • Avoid a busy patterned wall — the court composition wants a plain ground around it
