The brief was to honour the most physical of monsoon labours — hand-transplanting paddy — by finding its rhythm rather than its toil. Register-bands let the flooded fields stack as flat green planes with reflected sky, and the three bent women fall into a profile row that reads almost like a dance, saris tucked, hands in the water. We kept the palette honest to Bargarh's rice country and added one conch-white heron and a single lotus below, because the flooded field is a whole small world, not just a workplace. Their bent line is the composition; everything else stays quiet around it.
