The brief was to capture the whole weekly haat without turning it into one chaotic bazaar, so we borrowed the grid-panel format classical Pattachitra uses for sequenced subjects and gave each trade its own clean square. Six stalls — vegetables, fish, bangles, pots, tea, and leaf-greens — each a tidy seller-and-buyer vignette, the goods reduced to flat readable motifs in baskets and rows. We refused the temptation to cram every panel; one transaction per cell keeps the market legible and lets the buyer's eye shop the grid. The geru ground ties the squares together with market warmth. It is the haat sorted into the order of a temple frieze — daily commerce given the dignity of the line.
