The brief was a Ragamala mood at its most tender: Todi Ragini, the musical heroine whose veena is so sweet it charms wild deer to her side. We took it to Kishangarh because the school built its name on the idealized profile — the long arched eye, the fish-curved brow — and that face carries the longing the raga asks for. So the nayika sits alone at the centre with her veena, the cast kept to two companions and the animals her music summons: a pair of spotted deer, swans on the pond, a peacock, two doves among the lotuses. The malachite garden and lapis sky keep it lush and cool; the saffron choli and red textile are the warm notes. We let the flowering meadow breathe so the spell of the music, not a crowd, fills the page.
