We briefed this as a Sohrai tree-of-life around Karam, the festival where a freshly cut karam branch is planted in the courtyard and circled with song and offerings through the night. The design problem was a vigil — devotion that turns slowly around a fixed point — so central-medallion symmetry made the planted branch the rooted axis at the heart of the panel, with the young women orbiting it carrying their grain-bowls. Drawing the sprouted-grain offerings as repeating kaolin radiating bowls marks the ritual rhythm without crowding. Birds and deer crown the field, cattle anchor the base, and the terracotta ground keeps it grounded in real courtyard earth rather than a flat backdrop.
