The brief was a river-and-pond-life piece that puts the humble creatures first — frogs and a crab rather than a heroic animal — and lets the water do the structural work. We split the frame into a forest-green bank above and indigo water below, so the eye drops from the three sitting frogs to the single large crab in the current. The water is built from beaded S-curl bands, the Gond mark that reads as flowing water, so the whole lower half ripples without ever turning busy. The crab's shell is a fan of fish-scale rows, the frogs are dotted with dot-rows, and a pink lotus anchors the corner. It stays medium-light — small creatures on rhythmic water, clean ground between them.
