DESIGN BRIEF: The brief was not to paste stock laptop clip art inside a decorative rangoli frame — it was to solve how Chennai morning kolam and Mithila Aripana floor geometry absorb digital connectivity without breaking fourfold-rotational discipline. Aripana made sense because kolam and aripan share the same ritual logic: smear the ground, place a centre bindu, expand in confident white lines until the diagram is complete and the threshold is blessed. Fourfold-rotational symmetry solves device placement: laptops on the cardinal cross read like the four directions of a traditional floor diagram; smartphones on the diagonals fill the quadrant gaps the way petal loops once bridged kolam arms without collapsing into random tech clutter. We kept screens as flat indigo fields with white Wi-Fi glyphs — one readable symbol per device, no UI chrome — because Bharni fill discipline demands silhouette clarity at A2 distance. Godna stipple-dot accents in the vine interstitial import Dusadh tattoo granularity into an otherwise line-forward Aripana panel so the cream ground stays folk-saturated. Vertical fish and inward-facing corner birds anchor classical Mithila grammar around the digital core: abundance below, messengers at the corners, bindu at the centre where rice paste would have started on a Chennai threshold.
