The brief was the Harela motif at its simplest: one pot of sprouts, the green festival held in a single medallion rather than a busy field. A wide kalash sits on a lotus, its mouth crowded with the tall, fine seedlings Kumaoni households grow in baskets — the seven grains sown ten days before the monsoon and cut pale and leggy for the rite. We marked the pot with a swastika on each side and paired footprints below, the auspicious vocabulary of the festival, then wrapped it in a single lotus-petal ring so the sprouts read clean against open geru. Medium-light fill keeps the seedlings, pot and footprints legible with the ground breathing around the oval. White biswar on geru, nothing else.

  • Natural-oak frame on a warm white or clay wall keeps the geru glowing without yellowing it
  • Hang in a living room or kitchen where its growth-and-monsoon theme reads warm
  • Pairs with harela-sapling-tray and harela-sowing-green for a Harela trio
  • Sits well beside lakshmi-purna-kalash where the kalash grammar repeats
