When Alessandro de Tomaso struck his deal with Ford Motor Company in 1971, the result was the Pantera — Tom Tjaarda's wedge-profile body over a unitary steel monocoque powered by the Ford Cleveland 351 V8 mounted amidships. Sold through Lincoln-Mercury dealers across America, over 7,260 Panteras were built from 1971 to 1992 in various iterations, making it the most produced De Tomaso model and one of the most successful Italian-American collaborations in automotive history. Heritage Icons frames the Pantera in cobalt blue inside a classical semicircular arch — the same formal respect the Dukes of Modena would have afforded a Giugiaro sketch.
