The brief was order made beautiful: the char-bagh is the fourfold Persian-Mughal paradise garden, and the picture's job is to show its geometry from above without turning into a flat plan. Amber was the right school because the Jaipur court built and painted exactly these formal gardens — water channels, cypress avenues, corner pavilions — with a refined, balanced hand. So the composition is a true border-medallion: a central octagonal fountain anchors the page, four ivory channels cross out to quarter the garden into four flowerbeds, and the cast is kept to attendants at the corner pavilions and a seated couple on a platform below. The dense flowerbeds are bright but contained inside their squares, the lapis channels give the eye clean lines to travel, and the cypress rows keep the symmetry honest.
