The brief was a small, specific scene — two people sharing chai at a hill window while it rains — kept inside Aipan grammar rather than turned into a picture: rain becomes parallel white strokes through the shutters, the pines and ranges drop to folk silhouettes, and a lotus chowki below ties the whole thing back to the ritual square. We held the fill near half so the geru ground reads through the window and the hills, the way an Aipan diagram leaves earth open between strokes. The monsoon is the Kumaon hills' long grey season; a window, a teapot, and a friend are the whole event, and drawing it in biswar keeps it tender rather than sentimental. The swastika corners and the lotus chowki are the everyday Aipan blessing-marks holding the scene in place. No second colour — the rain itself is line.
