The Ligier JS2 (1971–1975) used a steel backbone chassis and fibreglass body with a Maserati-derived V6, predating Ligier's Formula 1 constructor era. Approximately 265 examples were built. The Alfa Romeo Montreal debuted at the 1967 Montreal Expo as a styling concept before entering production in 1970 with a 2. 6-litre V8 derived from the Tipo 33 Stradale unit. The Jensen Interceptor (1966–1976) used Chrysler V8 engines with steel monocoque chassis and Italian coachwork initially by Vignale, becoming a defining British-Italian GT of the 1970s.
