We briefed this as a Sohrai village-life medallion around the lac bangle-maker, the lahar who softens lac over a flame and rolls it into the bright bangles worn at festivals. The challenge was a small, fiddly craft moment that still had to read as a Sohrai motif, so we ringed the whole act — flame, roller, bowls of lac, the woman trying one on — into a single central medallion and strung the finished bangles in an arc overhead like a maker's sign. The red of the lac does the work, glowing against the ochre ground so the trade reads even from across the room. Cattle and peacocks crown the corners, deer and a cow settle the base, keeping it a Sohrai wall and not just a vignette.
