Paddy Harvest Saura Art Print — classical Lanjia Saura field panel · cutting, bundling and threshing rice in stacked rows · white on deep maroon · framed A2 · Rayagada, southern Odisha · collector edition of 500

Rice gets cut, bound, carried and threshed — and Saura stacks the whole day into honest rows so you can read it top to bottom like the field itself.

DESIGN BRIEF: the brief was the full paddy day — cutting, binding, carrying, threshing — and the cleanest way to hold all of it is the harvest-field-rows symmetry, which stacks the work in honest registers the way a hill field terraces. We drew the standing paddy as upright line-tufts so the bending harvesters with their sickles read instantly, then let the sheaves, the pot-carrying women, and the threshing band follow in clear rows. The fill stays medium-light so the deep-maroon ground shows between every band and the eye rests as much on the ground as on the work. We refused faces, refused colour, refused perspective depth and any tractor or signage; a conical haystack, a bullock cart and a humped cow close the harvest the way real Lanjia Saura field panels do in the Rayagada hills, with the customary sun, moon, horses and elephants opening the top.

  • Natural-oak frame on cream or terracotta walls — the warm white line and maroon ground read true without yellowing
  • Hang at eye level near a dining or kitchen wall where a harvest scene belongs
  • Pair with threshing-floor and kewda-harvest for a three-panel harvest wall
  • Black frame sharpens the rice-paste line in a darker, wood-furnished room
  • Stack A3 beside shifting-cultivation and podu-millet-terraces for a field-work trio
  • Keep adjacent decor quiet — the monochrome rows read best against calm walls
