Single-vignette grammar keeps the supporting cast small and folk-scaled: a pot-carrier, a man cradling the day's kallu, a woman with her pot, a hut and a dog, all scattered so the vermilion ground keeps breathing around the trunk. The medium-light fill is deliberate; an earlier draft filled the grove with palms and lost the one climber that the picture is actually about. The chrome-yellow sun sets the hour, and flat green against red does the rest the Nakashi way, no shading.
