Mir Poster — 1986 Soviet Modular Space Station International Space Constructivist Print · framed A2

T-shaped modules and lavender solar wings against a stippled Earth limb — Mir earns museum-specimen typography because fifteen years of modular orbit finally made a space station feel like a neighbourhood, not a capsule.

Rank 16 documents Mir — the Soviet Union's first modular space station and the longest continuously operated orbital outpost until the International Space Station surpassed its tenure. Launched 20 February 1986 aboard Proton-K from Baikonur, Mir's core module seeded a T-configuration cluster that grew through Kvant, Kvant-2, Kristall, Spektr, Priroda, and Docking Module additions across fifteen years of assembly. Leonid Kizim and Vladimir Solovyov crewed the inaugural expedition; Shannon Lucid, Norman Thagard, and dozens of international visitors followed as Mir became the template for cooperative long-duration flight. At roughly 130 tonnes assembled mass in a 354 × 374 kilometre orbit, Mir hosted hundreds of experiments, commercial film shoots, and the collision lesson that later informed ISS safety culture. Wallimilist renders the T-configuration hero, indigo-violet solar wings, dense right-column text archive, cream MIR slab title, LONGEST-OPERATED STATION UNTIL ISS kicker, and MODULAR STATION HOSTED INTERNATIONAL CREWS footer exactly as the master PNG dictates — Energia and Mir program emblems, specimen data bands, and curator copy on modular station heritage.

  • Black frame on warm white walls — indigo-violet solar wings and cream archive panel stay vivid without overpowering neutral upholstery
  • Pair with Salyut 1 or Soyuz–Apollo at matching A2 for pre-Mir Soviet station chronology
  • Hang above a credenza at eye level; T-configuration module cluster and Earth limb read best with half a metre stand-off
  • Natural-oak frame suits study walls where cream parchment echoes wood beside Soviet space photography
  • Stack A3 beside Buran or Phobos 2 for late-1980s Soviet space ambition grid without repeating module geometry
  • Deep navy plaster walls complement the star field without competing with lavender solar wing hatching
