DESIGN BRIEF: the brief was to give the elephant march the dignity of a procession, so the three caparisoned animals walk trunk-to-tail in one central band, patterned with cloth, each with a small rider and the middle one shaded by a parasol — the clear hero across the panel. We held the fill to medium and kept the fish-net frame bold and open rather than a merged mesh, so the elephants read as three distinct shapes against the breathing terracotta-red ground and the village bands below — the cart-wheel, the bowman, the harvesters, the cattle — never crowd into them. The rounded faceless figures are pure Lanjia Saura, bent-knee and bulb-headed, never Warli triangles, and there is no perspective depth, just bands stacking up the panel. Elephants carry chiefs and gods in Saura processions; the print wanted that sense of a ceremonial march moving across an ordinary working hamlet.
