Among the Rathwa of Chhota Udepur the tiger belongs to the forest world the Pithora is painted to acknowledge and keep at peace, and the archers around it carry the old hunt theme without violence overwhelming the wall. The little black dog at the tiger's heels is the kind of detail the folk grammar loves — scale and humour in one mark.
