Cheriyal scrolls come from Cheriyal village in Telangana's Siddipet district, painted for generations by the Nakashi artist community in flat colour on a red ground. This print applies that grammar to Pochampally ikat — the resist-dyed weaving of Bhoodan Pochampally in Nalgonda district, Telangana, where yarn is tie-dyed before weaving so the pattern emerges with its characteristic soft, feathered edges.
